“Fundamental tax reform” is code for “a completely new tax you will have to pay and millionaires, billionaires and corporations won’t.”

What does that mean? Let’s look at Project 2025’s specific policy language.

Fundamental Tax Reform. Achieving fundamental tax reform offers the prospect of a dramatic improvement in American living standards and an equally dramatic reduction in tax compliance costs.

This is code for a new type of tax. Whenever a politician or operative proposes a new kind of tax, beware. Unless they agree to end the old tax system the same day the new tax system begins, taxpayers will be stuck with all of them.

Future politicians can always undo “phase-outs” of old tax systems when they see how much more revenue they are generating. Which is why Project 2025 throws in this “concern” about those who profit from the current system.

Lobbyists, lawyers, benefit consultants, accountants, and tax preparers would see their incomes decline, however.

So yeah. They’re proposing a completely new tax on average Americans while keeping the old system.

The federal income tax system heavily taxes capital and corporate income and discourages work, savings, and investment.

This week, we have repeatedly shown that statements like these are bullshit designed to funnel more money to the millionaire, billionaire, and corporate donor class.

The public finance literature is clear that a consumption tax (AND THERE IT IS!) would minimize government’s distortion of private economic decisions and thus be the least economically harmful way to raise federal tax revenues. There are several forms that a consumption tax could take, including a national sales tax, a business transfer tax, a Hall–Rabushka flat tax, or a cash flow tax.

Or hell, Republicans. Why not implement all of them? You and your millionaire and billionaire corporate donors won’t pay them anyway. Why spare us peons the joy of paying multiple new taxes at once?

And here’s where they pay back their millionaire and billionaire corporate donors for international efforts to force oligarchs to pay taxes.

Tax Competition. Tax competition between states and countries is a positive force for liberty and limited government. The Biden Administration, under the direction of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, has pushed for a global minimum corporate tax that would increase taxation and the size of government in the U.S. and around the world. This attempt to “harmonize” global tax rates is an attempt to create a global tax cartel to quash tax competition and to increase the tax burden globally. The U.S. should not outsource its tax policy to international organizations.

No, because politicians have already bent over, grabbed their ankles, and let billionaires, millionaires and corporations stuff money into every gaping, greedy orifice while pointing fingers at people who want fairness and calling them a global tax cartel.

I am going to translate the above garbage “tax competition” sentences into what they actually mean.

Tax competition between states and countries is a positive force for liberty and limited government = It is always better for billionaires, millionaires, and corporations to have the liberty to not pay taxes. We want to continue to give our legislative and judicial prostitutes “campaign contributions” and “undeclared bribes” for this privilege.

This attempt to “harmonize” global tax rates is an attempt to create a global tax cartel to quash tax competition and to increase the tax burden globally = They love to compare things that force them to pay taxes to drug cartels, even as they snort/shoot up/swallow/mainline money to feed their own addiction to selfishness and power, control and greed.

The Organi-zation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), in conjunction with the European Union, has long tried to end financial privacy and impose regulations on countries with low (or no) income taxes. In fact, on tax, environmental, corporate governance and employment issues, the OECD has become little more than a taxpayer-funded left-wing think tank and lobbying organization. The United States provides about one-fifth of OECD’s funding. The U.S. should end its financial support and withdraw from the OECD.

Does anyone understand why the European Union is under populist pressure from all sides? Because they are one of the only groups on this planet who have dared attempt to force billionaires, millionaires, and corporations to pay taxes.

The EU has strict privacy laws. It is trying to force social media companies to be fairer and more transparent. It still cares about climate change and the environment.

The worldwide oligarch class will not stand for anything that challenges their grip on power or forces them to pay taxes. They will destroy democracy to keep their money and power. Unless we stop them.

But stopping them means understanding THEY’RE THE BAD GUYS. It means refusing to vote for politicians who are in league with the bad guys, which right now means not voting for the US Republican Party at any level of government.

I don’t type that to be partisan. I type it to plead with Republican, independent, and libertarian voters to prioritize their own interests, because Republican politicians and their obscenely wealthy backers won’t.

This Republican Party is owned by the oligarch donor class. Maybe one day they will fix themselves, and you can vote for them again. But 2024 is not that year. November 2024 is not that month.
