The No Kings protests all over the country gave me hope. 5 million people who were willing to stand up and say “no” (and there are more of us) gave me hope.
The long awaited coming of sleep. I was the primary caregiver for my partner with Alzheimer's for about 4 years. I have Restless Leg Syndrome which is where the top half of me is trying desperately to sleep and the bottom half is training for a triathlon. My PCP couldn't prescribe me a sleep med during that time, because I had to be able to awaken if my partner needed help. She passed away in March. Now when my RLS kicks up (pun intended) I have something that allows me to sleep through it. Four years of sleep deprivation and caregiver stress has really given me a fine appreciation for the value of a good night's sleep, every night, reliably. It's making a huge difference in my energy level and forward momentum.
