I just finished watching the video with you and David Graham. It is very encouraging to me that a high profile journalist like Graham really gets it. So many Dems in congress just either don't get it or don't think that Project 2025 is as serious a threat as it is. I bring up Christian Nationalists and the fact that it is a cult running this country on social media often and I think I am not being taken very seriously. Thank you, Andra.
Keep talking. Keep bringing it up. More people take me seriously now than they did this time last year. Progress comes from refusing to stop talking. In part, at least.
Senate Republicans are scheduled to vote this week ! I will be calling Sen Medicare Fraudster Rick Scott and Sen BadMoody(how they’re in my 📲 😜) every day.

“Fiscal hawks including Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) want to slash the federal share of Medicaid spending in states that expanded the program under the Affordable Care Act and to speed up the phaseout of renewable energy tax breaks.”
At this point, I don’t trust Republicans to follow any rule that impedes their power. What happens if they ignore the parliamentarian? I fully expect them to either ignore her or massage the words to say the same thing a different way. These people are ruthless, and they are not being met with ruthless opposition.

Thanks for the reminder about 5Calls.org. I used the site for the first time today. Fast, easy way to get the phone numbers, both DC and state offices. The big debt bill is a repeat of trickle down. The long-term effects will be even worse this time. There's a new book out " How Countries Go Broke ', about the debt crisis. I say we need to raise taxes, not lower them or extend the breaks. Also, raising motor fuel taxes would help. And, hire more IRS agents. IRS is understaffed. My CPA says so, and she's no liar.
CPAs are exhausted by this. I kept my license up for a long time, and the utter ridiculousness of these bills, coupled with no IRS staff to respond to questions or provide resources, caused a lot of people to retire or flee the profession. I put my license in emeritus status last year so I wouldn’t have to go to these swear-worthy tax updates anymore.
I just call us Nazi America now. We are living in Nazi America. But of course, lol, don't forget how it's Joe Biden's fault. So, yeah. It is done -- but the Civil War is here. If we can beat the incompetent doofuses that got us here -- then we slowly rebuild -- 'til the next time. I am curious if using, "In The Name of Jeazus -- I call out donald trump and his minions as being the Anti-Christ and his spawn!" Then start chanting prayers to Saint Michael The Archangel to shield us against the devil while we break into patriotic songs and surround the deportees separating them from the ICE-nazies. Would doing this in the faces of our closest trump-hat-wearing-jerkeef family, friends and neighbors have an effect? How are the Christo-Fascists going to respond to the actual "calling on The Name of Jesus?" Since the actual shooting hasn't started yet, can we just be the loudest, craziest jerks on the street in response? Using their tools -- insincere "prayer" and "patriotic" song? See a goon squad? Start singing "My Country tis of Thee...!" Maga-bro in the store? He gets The Pledge of Allegiance. "Please remove your hat for The Anthem!" Start reciting The Scout Oath! "In the Name of Geezus -- I renounce you, spawn of the devil!!!" Crazy is as it does. Make 'em think. Wake 'em up to what they have done and continue to do.
I certainly think Pope Leo's flex with priests accompanying people to court appointments was brilliant, but the negative optics of roughing up priests won't stop them for long.
We've also seen how furious they get when anyone points out Jesus' actual words to them, or encourages them to consider Jesus' actual life and ministry, because how dare we talk about Christianity or what the Bible means when they are the sanctimonious experts of their radicalized certainty.
I do think mimicking some of their hypocrisy to their faces in this manner could be very entertaining and effective. Especially things like dragging out the women speaking in tongues in front of the White House, and having people do their own versions of that any-and-everywhere. And juxtapose that with people being brutally beaten and kidnapped off the street with the blessing of these same people who accuse others of demon possession while they chant like lunatics for show and cheer the opposite of everything Jesus stood for.

When he decided to buy me a ring and propose, he took me to his mom’s house in FL. (He designed and built it, but he never fully finished it.) So we went down there for him to help his brother-in-law do some finishing.
And he disappeared for hours and left me with his family and Johnny Cash:God.
When MTM got back, they kept playing Johnny Cash:God. It went on all weekend. And I forgot he’d been gone for hours and hours on a supposed Lowe’s run.
He proposed a couple of weeks later. And I kind of still associate my ring with Johnny Cash:God. 😂
Andra, I am with you on what you are saying. I see the imminent danger not just in the budget and the powers that are being given to the President, but also in Trump having gotten us into war without the Congress approving it, and with the war the potential lies to declare martial law and to suspend elections.
I cannot even say all my thoughts right now. I am waiting to see what shakes out right now. I remember being cautious in the beginning of covid as well. I was also steadily reading, reading, reading everything I could learn about it. Reading the science and the data, and the situation in each country.
I asked my daughter if she knew that the US is at war with Iran. She said, Yes.... the world is a dangerous place." I felt terrible that at 20 she has to make such an observation. This is the world I have brought her into, and how can I protect her from this when she does not want to be limited. She is part of the covid generation who lost over a year at crucial developmental times in their lives. My mom was a World War 2 child. She lost time during the war. When my daughter had school online, my mother told me that during the war they all missed a year or two of school and they caught up. It was not the academic learning that was an issue, it was the social-emotional development, and the sense of mastery in the world. How can we help them get this back when we have people like this in charge.
Every word and every action is a lie about what is real, and what should be valuable. All of us need to strive to hold onto the truth in this barrage of fake reality. Andra, I appreciate your helping me to do that with your speaking truth to power. Thank you.
I am so incensed by these Republicans who have allowed this to happen. It is absolutely unconstitutional. He should be impeached and removed immediately. But then we get Hillbilly, which is even worse.
I am incensed at everyone who voted for this, especially those who are now shrieking that this isn’t what they wanted. YES. YES IT IS. Because they worship a god who is happy to kill them and their military family members and cling to hopes of the rapture.
We live in such a stupid timeline. But you and I and others here are fighting for your daughter. And for many other sons daughters grandsons granddaughters nieces nephews and more of a future we can’t know. And we will keep doing that for as long as it takes.
Yes we are doing what we can and understanding that we are living in a time in history where there is a lot of struggle. I am also just trying to get my bearings. What Trump seems to thrive on with the chaos and escalating every situation, most of us don't.
There are a lot of moving parts right now. Some of them are stay away from crowds and government buildings. Not only have the sleeper cells been awakened, but this is sure to radicalize a lot of people.
Why did Trump have to say "regime change?" All 40,000 troops on bases in the Middle East are in danger. All of us are too. Stay out of US and Israeli embassies and consulates. Stay away from all fun events that bring people together. I will be flying this summer and I am very unhappy about it.
